What is the learning methodology?

All of the Performing, Composing and Publishing lessons use our Mastering Music Sequencer where students are editing songs within their web browser and saving these to their Google drive. The teacher accesses their work through a teacher interface and provides a mark.
  • Each sequencing lesson contains an outline of what is required and opens into the correct editor with the correct tool ready for immediate use, focussing the student on the lesson content and not the technology behind the lesson.
  • Each lesson outline contains hyperlinks to help pages to assist the student in completing the work.
The Musicianship lessons are a combination of sequencing lessons, aural lessons and theory lessons, with the theory lessons containing information pages, exercises and assessment tasks. The following 2 minute video shows the range of lesson material across these 4 learning areas and how this works.

Technology Made Easy in the Connected Classroom

The Mastering Music lessons are delivered using Google Classroom providing a seamless environment for teachers and students through a single logon with each student's work stored on their Google Drive.

"Mastering Music has been developed by experienced musicians and music educators to place the power and the pleasure of digital music-making in the hands of students, taking them from musical rudiments to advanced skills in performance, composition and listening. It embeds the foundational skills of aural discernment, notation and arrangement within interactive learning experiences that allow students to develop their ability to compose, perform and record their own music using the power of a DAW, but all running from your web browser with nothing to install.
