This five hour online course, led by a music teacher, examines the issues that high school music teachers are facing in engaging students to unlock their inner musician and get them enthusiastic and motivated to want to learn.

This course uses the lessons in Mastering Music to introduce the teacher to the range of music lessons available covering performing, composing, publishing and musicianship for students individually and in a class setting. These lessons have been mapped to the curriculum for each Year level (7-12) so the teacher can become familiar with the appropriate lessons needed to cover the music syllabus for each class. This course also teaches how to assign individual lessons to student classes, group students into classes, set up lesson plans and to view student results.

On completion, each teacher will receive a Professional Development Certificate.

This course has been divided into several sessions as follows.

Session 1: Lesson Overview and Assigning Lessons to your Students (45 mins)
Session 2: Using Technology in Solo, Band, Orchestra, Choir and Ensemble Performances (1 hour)
Session 3: Composing, Arranging and Mixing Songs (1 hour)
Session 4: Music Notation and Publishing (1 hour)
Session 5: Musicianship - Aural Training and Music Theory (1 hour)
Session 6: Wrap Up and Evaluation (15 mins)
