Mastering Music for the Secondary Music Teacher
Course Purpose
This course introduces secondary music teachers to a complete range of online lessons that are available to use in engaging students to unlock their inner musician by getting them enthusiastic and motivated to want to learn music.
Course Description
This course uses Mastering Music, an online music resource, to facilitate music learning by providing lessons in performing, composing, publishing and musicianship for students individually and in a class setting. These lessons have been mapped to the curriculum for each Year level (7-12) for easy assignment by teachers to student classes. The Mastering Music lessons are delivered using Google Classroom providing a seamless environment for teachers and students through a single logon with each student's work stored on their Google or One Drive.

On completion of this course, the classroom teacher will retain access to a single licence of Mastering Music to use in their classroom with their students.
Course Outline
Registration: Mastering Music Registration using your Google or Microsoft Account.

Following registration, this course has been divided into several sessions each of which must be completed to qualify for the accreditation.

Session 1: Lesson Overview and Assigning Lessons to your Students (45 mins)
Session 2: Using Technology in Solo, Band, Orchestra, Choir and Ensemble Performances (1 hour)
Session 3: Composing, Arranging and Mixing Songs (1 hour)
Session 4: Music Notation and Publishing (1 hour)
Session 5: Musicianship - Aural Training and Music Theory (1 hour)
Session 6: Wrap Up and Evaluation (15 mins)
